Monique is a board director of Broadway Malyan Asia Pte. Ltd. Based in our Singapore studio, she has extensive experience in the fields of architecture and masterplanning, having worked on a wealth of international mixed use masterplanning and city centre developments ranging from large-scale design to small-scale public realm works.
A qualified architect with a master's degree in urbanism, Monique's breadth of expertise also extends to the areas of strategic planning, SMART cities, urban branding and visioning, as well as transit orientated development and sustainability.
Since joining Broadway Malyan at the beginning of 2011, Monique has proved instrumental to the practice's operations in the Asia Pacific region and beyond, with a career that has seen her travel from Singapore to the UK, the Netherlands, Qatar and Indonesia.
She has played an instrumental role in a number of Broadway Malyan's award-winning projects, including Health City Novena and Sunway Iskandar, the latter of which won the iProperty People's Choice Award for Best Township for three consecutive years following its completion.
Monique regularly shares her knowledge at industry conferences and exhibitions, and continues to be involved in academic research initiatives around the world. This includes being a member of Polis, an urban planning platform designed to support master's students in the fields of Urbanism and Landscape Architecture at TU Delft in the Netherlands.
“As a masterplanner, I never like to work in isolation. I thrive on the breadth of knowledge and sector expertise that we have across our practice. When I am coordinating all of these aspects in order to get the right result, it feels like conducting music.”
