Looking Back at 2025
19th December 2025

As we look back on 2025, we are proud to reflect on a year defined by collaboration and creativity across our global studios.

We begin by highlighting a year of significant achievement, with major completions across the workplace, hospitality and cultural sectors.

Google Ananta in Bengaluru was opened in February, with architecture and interior amenity spaces designed by Broadway Malyan. This groundbreaking campus represents one of Google’s largest sites globally; a new 12-storey home for a 7000-strong team, designed to bring people together and inspire collaboration.

From innovative electrochromic glass facades and intelligent environmental services to sky gardens and one of India’s largest smart installations, Google Ananta sets a new standard in environmental stewardship as well as innovative design.

We completed the interior fit-out of a global bank’s German headquarters in Frankfurt – the latest in a series of collaborations with this long-standing client, following recent schemes in Stockholm and Paris.

Located opposite the city's historic stock exchange, the fit-out spans over 10,000 sqm across six floors, featuring flexible office space, a client centre, two landscaped courtyards and over 2,000 sqm of ancillary areas, including work lounges designed as collaborative gathering points.

Hotel Mundial revealed the first phase of a transformational refurbishment, completed by Broadway Malyan Lisbon.

The renovation has reimagined the ground floor into a vibrant and sophisticated space. The main entrance, reception, lobby and lounge areas have been redesigned to bring back the glamour of the 1960s, now reinterpreted with contemporary lines, abundant natural light, enhanced comfort and the integration of nature through biophilic design.

We led the design development and delivery of the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi within the Saadiyat Cultural District. As the largest museum of its kind in the region, it will take visitors on a 14-billion-year journey through time and space, offering an immersive educational and cultural experience.

A landmark destination, the Museum plays a central role in realising the Saadiyat Vision 2025, aiming to increase domestic, regional and global visitor numbers while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s tourism ecosystem.

From shortlists to wins, 2025 was a year of strong recognition, highlighting the quality, innovation and impact of our architectural, masterplanning and interiors projects.

The Muscat Structure Plan was named a winner of the World Architecture Festival WAFX Smart Cities Award and a finalist in the WAF Future Projects – Masterplanning category for the 2025 awards.

The project focuses on compact development by increasing population densities in better-connected areas, aiming to reduce urban sprawl. It promotes the creation of well-defined serviced urban districts with a clear purpose, identity and strong connection to their surroundings. Robust economic profiling will be achieved by creating 19 new employment clusters, supporting Muscat’s growth to 890,000 jobs by 2040 and driving a shift to a knowledge- and innovation-driven economy.

Broadway Malyan was shortlisted for the 2025 Building Design Architect of the Year Awards, in the Best Architect Employer of the Year category – for the second year running!

We remain dedicated to fostering a workplace where every individual feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive. Being recognised once again for this commitment is a true honour and reinforces our ongoing mission to cultivate an inclusive, collaborative and inspiring environment for all our people.

East Village Masterplan in Calgary, Canada, was named a finalist for the Architecture Today Awards in the International category.

Completed in 2008, East Village is a vibrant 49-acre neighbourhood located on the edge of downtown Calgary along the Bow River. Once a neglected downtown industrial area characterised by environmental degradation, disused infrastructure, and limited public appeal, it has now been transformed into one of Calgary’s most dynamic, inclusive, and liveable districts.

Broadway Malyan was recognised at the Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) Planning Awards 2025, receiving Gold in Excellence in Planning for Community Engagement and Social Inclusiveness for the Global Future Cities Programme: Surabaya Urban Transformation, and Silver in Excellence in Planning (up to 500 ha) for Singapore Makers Land.

The Surabaya Urban Transformation Programme "Dolly" has created a transformational blueprint for the Putat Jaya area, once home to Southeast Asia’s largest red-light district, shaping a vibrant, equitable and sustainable district and setting a new benchmark for kampungs across Indonesia.

Singapore Makers Land envisions a new kind of waterside neighbourhood, featuring innovative live-work and co-work typologies, dynamic public and leisure spaces, and integrated green interventions and recreational corridors that promote health and wellbeing.

Our Lisbon studio celebrated its 30th anniversary, Broadway Malyan's first international office and the foundation for a global network that now spans locations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

“Reaching this milestone is a moment of real pride for our Lisbon team. Over three decades, we have grown from a small studio into one of the most respected practices in Portugal, shaping projects that have helped redefine city districts and build communities. “What makes this anniversary special is the contribution of so many talented colleagues and collaborators whose creativity and passion continue to drive our success both here and internationally.” Margarida Ordaz Caldeira, Head of Lisbon Studio

This year marks 25 years of Broadway Malyan in Spain – a milestone moment for our Madrid studio and wider practice.

“As we celebrate twenty-five incredible years of Broadway Malyan Madrid, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to every member of our studio. We expanded Broadway Malyan's Think Tank panel series across our global network of studios. First established in Madrid in 2019, the series provides a forum that brings together industry experts to explore the trends and challenges shaping our sector, from architecture and urban design to real estate development and regeneration.

Our first global edition took place in Singapore in September, followed by London in November. Click below to watch recordings of the sessions.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to delivering innovative projects and initiatives that create lasting impact across communities and the built environment. Thank you to our clients, partners and colleagues for your support and collaboration this year.
