St Helier Harbour regeneration shortlisted for The Planning Awards
27th May 2025

We’re excited to announce that the Elizabeth Harbour Redevelopment - St Helier Harbour Masterplan has been shortlisted for The Planning Awards in the Placemaking category for Promoting Economic Growth.

The project is a transformative regeneration initiative led by Ports of Jersey to modernise the island’s vital maritime hub. Designed with Jersey-based Waddington Architects, the plan spans approximately nine hectares and addresses ageing infrastructure, enhancing passenger and freight operations while fostering a vibrant cultural and tourism destination.

Key proposals include a new passenger terminal, reconfigured freight facilities, and expanded public spaces, improving connectivity between St Helier and the waterfront. This submission will outline the proposals for the first phase of redeveloping Elizabeth Harbour and their importance to the port’s long-term viability and Jersey’s economic growth, while delivering significant social and environmental benefits in line with the Port of Jersey’s 2030 net-zero target.
