Role Overview

As an Associate Director of Masterplanning, you will be based in our Warsaw design studio and be responsible for concept generation and delivery of a number of large-scale masterplans in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. This is a leadership role within our team in Warsaw and therefore will require key skills around people mentorship, project leadership and client management skills. You will report to our Director of Masterplanning and work closely with masterplanning teams in other Broadway Malyan studios.

Role Requirements

Design & Technical Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership, presentation and design skills
  • Thorough understanding of urban design principles, CMP and DMP processes
  • Experienced with Business Development, Bids and Speaking Events
  • Proficient in Rhino (Grasshopper is a plus) or Autodesk AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a plus), and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Working knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS Pro is preferred)
  • Proficient in Excel (or a database software)
  • Experienced in organising and driving projects to high level design and delivery outcomes
  • Able to prepare and develop high-quality drawings, reports and presentations
  • Strong public speaking skills with experience presenting to executive teams
  • Ability to manage project coordination and organise sub-consultants
  • Experience mentoring and developing team skills and culture
  • Skilled in project coordination, managing sub-consultants, and meeting deadlines
  • A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working
  • Flexible, adaptable, and positive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A professional degree in Architecture or Landscape with a Masters in Urban Design
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English - spoken and written
  • Strong ability with Rhino/Autodesk and Adobe Suite (Grasshopper is a plus)

Role Outline and Responsibilities

Projects & People Management:

  • Lead multidisciplinary projects from inception to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, fees, client teams and scope are effectively managed
  • Shape project outcomes through strategic planning, resourcing, and quality oversight
  • Proactive approach to, with help of studio head and Director of Masterplanning, building studio culture and mentoring team members
  • Taking ownership of, and producing project presentations, reports, and high-quality 2D/3D outputs
  • Responsible for graphic standards and model development across projects

Communication:

  • Building clear and compelling presentations and reports for projects
  • Delivering these to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams through presentations and workshops

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Understand the broader strategic context of the business plan and develop creative, pragmatic, data informed solutions to support
  • Support and take proactive approach to bids, work-winning, speaking engagements, and business development initiatives
