Simon Fowler appointed as Chair of the EOT Board
20th October 2025

We’re announcing the appointment of Simon Fowler as Chair of the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) Board and Independent Director on the Broadway Malyan Holdings Board

Simon brings more than three decades of strategic, cultural and governance experience gained through a distinguished career with the John Lewis Partnership, where he held senior leadership and Board roles, including Managing Director of John Lewis Oxford Street and Peter Jones, and Group Director of Communications. During his tenure, he led major transformation programmes, built high-performing teams, and helped strengthen one of the UK’s most respected employee-owned organisations.

A former Chair of the Employee Ownership Association for ten years, Simon has played an influential role in shaping national policy and governance practice across the sector. He now holds a portfolio of leadership positions in employee-owned and values-led organisations, including as Chair of Aquascot, a Scottish seafood business recognised for its strong employee-ownership culture, and Chair of Procure Plus Holdings, a social housing procurement business supporting regeneration and employment in local communities.

As Chair of the Broadway Malyan EOT Board, Simon will provide independent leadership to the Trustees, ensuring the Trust continues to act in the long-term interests of employee owners and supports the sustainable success of the practice. In his parallel role as Independent Director on the Holdings Board, he will also bring constructive challenge, oversight and advocacy - strengthening the link between Broadway Malyan’s governance, its global creative practice and its employee community.

“Broadway Malyan has an extraordinary heritage of creative excellence and collaboration, underpinned by a genuine commitment to its people and purpose. I’m honoured to take on this role and to build on the great work of Campbell MacDonald and the Trustee Board. My aim is to help ensure Broadway Malyan continues to thrive as a confident, global employee-owned business - one that combines design brilliance with a strong sense of shared ownership and long-term stewardship.” Simon Fowler

“We are delighted to welcome Simon to Broadway Malyan. His exceptional experience within the employee ownership sector and his proven ability to blend strategic insight with a people-centred approach will bring real strength to our Boards. This is an exciting moment for Broadway Malyan as we continue to evolve our business globally, and Simon’s appointment reinforces our commitment to the principles of partnership, collaboration and shared success.” Ian Aspley, CEO at Broadway Malyan
