7th July 2016

The Shanghai studio of Broadway Malyan has appointed a new senior designer to progress its mixed use and hospitality portfolio projects.

Zou Zhe joins the practice’s senior team in China with over 10 years’ experience working in large international practices across the region on a number of signature projects.

Commenting on the appointment, Shanghai based director Jeremy Salmon, said: “Zhe brings all the right skills and experience to enhance our current team in delivering our existing and new projects with his particular expertise in retail and hospitality, and his obvious passion for innovation.”

Jeremy added: “He joins at an important moment for the studio where we have momentum in our long term plans to establish the brand in China despite the current market slowdown, and where we are now seeking to strengthen our unique design and service offer.”

Zou Zhe studied architecture in the UK at the University of Greenwich and has worked on projects throughout China and Europe.

Broadway Malyan currently serves a number of leading clients and developers including SCPG, Blackstone, Nan Fung and Tishman Speyer on a range of mixed use new and repositioning projects.

A number of retail projects have recently been completed by the Shanghai team including Carrefour’s largest China property investment, SiYuanQiao, a new 70,000 m2 shopping centre in Beijing.
