Broadway Malyan provided urban design, landscape architecture, branding, signage and wayfinding expertise as part of a wider inter-disciplinary project team. This integrated approach allowed the successful design of a wide range of new spaces at a range of scales, streetscape improvements, signage and wayfinding to create different districts accessible for all, reduced surface car parking and an activated ground floor.
Key design interventions included the introduction of sustainable drainage systems; more native planting; shading; facilities for cyclists; improved signage and clearer wayfinding.
The dominance of private cars on the boulevard was softened with more pedestrian only areas and the introduction of a continuous cycle way along the street.
