The project benefits from being set in mature natural landscape with each area of amenity designed to flow through from internal to outside space with the use of large areas of glazing and natural materials allowing residents to feel connected with nature. External spaces have been split into character areas, with large areas left to natural wildflower gardens but also introducing formal areas designed to provide a sensory experience.
55 bed care home, designed to encourage social connection
This 55 bed care home, located in Oxford, has been designed to be familiar in scale and material to create an environment that makes its residents feel immediately comfortable and at home.
The social aspect of care was a primary focus in the design process, with each household having access to shared 'hub' amenity to encourage conversation and interaction. The shared spaces vary in scale, character and use to allow for stimulation and experience.
