Broadway Malyan has masterplanned and designed Al Bandar, an entirely new island within ALDAR's prestigious Al Raha Beach Development in Abu Dhabi. The scheme, due for completion in 2010, will represent the finest offer in waterside living for Abu Dhabi.
Reached via a causeway, the development comprises over 530 luxury residential apartments, 5,000m² retail and commercial space, landscaped private gardens, a private marina, water taxi terminal and a 900-space car park within a concealed basement garage. The entire island is pedestrian-friendly with cars entering the underground car park as soon as they arrive on the island.
Residential accommodation on the island is divided into two distinct areas, one a gated community of family-orientated apartments in a garden setting within leisure amenities, and the other, a trendy neighbourhood of loft-style apartments on a promenade which links the water taxi terminal to the entrance of the development. Every apartment has a view of the water and the facade treatment reflects this.
The retail element of the development includes an open air souk-style market alongside a series of outlets focusing on health lifestyles.
