Great design should have a strong narrative. Something to excite, inspire and engage with the people who will be the end users. This section highlights some of our projects that we feel have an interesting story behind, whether it is to do with the original big idea, our process or the final result.

The Mall, Luton
Luton, UK
Broadway Malyan were asked to expand and refresh the tired Arndale Centre in Luton, turning a dark and aging shopping centre which turned away from the city into a bright and welcoming destination reconnected to its surroundings.
Rebranded as ‘The Mall’, the £12M scheme provides 7,200m² of high quality new shopping space in nine new retail units over three floors at the St George’s Square end of the mall. Cafe and restaurant accommodation totalling 1,600m² is provided at ground floor level, facing onto this newly revitalised public square. A new triple-height, fully glazed landmark entrance faces the square, providing a focal point for the development and reconnecting the shopping centre with the city.
The second stage of the redevelopment is currently underway.
