Broadway Malyan were appointed to design an exemplar house to be constructed as the UK exhibit for the 2001 European Housing Exhibition held in Malmo, Sweden.

The house represents best practice in passive and low-energy design and uses innovative techniques and products, including the use of local renewable energy sources and grey water recycling; passive solar design and solar water heating and controlled whole-house ventilation with heat recovery.
