The Obel scheme in Donegal Quay is part of a comprehensive programme of regeneration of the area on the edge of the River Lagan in the heart of Belfast city centre. Once completed, the landmark 28-storey tower will be Northern Ireland's tallest building. The development comprises the 28-storey residential building with 280 residential units, an 8-storey hotel with 144 bedrooms, a 7-storey building providing 4,500m² office space plus bar and restaurant space. The scheme provides a viable and sustainable solution that supplies contemporary facilities that can support, enhance and sustain the local community. Sustainability will be achieved through the use of high-quality design and construction to create buildings efficient in their use of natural resources and their use of energy through their life cycle.
