Broadway Malyan was employed in January, 2008 to prepare a concept masterplan for a greenfield site 17 kilometres from the centre of the city of Luanda. The brief was to prepare a self-sustaining new community containing a mix of uses.
The masterplan for the City of Aldasa is driven by an overriding vision to create a world-class living and working community for Luanda. With its emphasis on design quality, the masterplan will set the standards for future projects in Angola and the surrounding region and will define the benchmark for Aldasa as the modern African city. To this end the primary ambition is for an integrated and self-sustaining new community that adds a vibrant and robust approach to the broader future development of the wider Luanda region and the strategic growth to the west of the city. The masterplan has been developed to maximise its locational advantages and the surrounding natural landscape.
