Broadway Malyan was appointed by ALDAR to prepare a masterplan for Mina Zayed, an 860 hectare waterfront site in the east of Abu Dhabi. The masterplan, part of the Strategic Plan and Vision for the city, will provide a more detailed development framework for the Mina Zayed development. It has been designed to create an exciting new environment comprising a number of districts of varying character. The design of these districts will be refined by the team as the scheme progresses. A balanced mix of uses across the development is provided, including the central business district, new quality retail, residential, employment and commercial space, leisure and cultural opportunities. Waterfront areas have been opened up, reconnecting the urban fabric with the water's edge. With its mix of uses, integrated transport system and network of open spaces, Mina Zayed aims to set a benchmark for sustainable development in the Gulf.
