The name Jinan derives from the Arabic term for heavenly garden. Gardens, recreation, superb and a balanced lifestyle for all residents and visitors are at the very heart of our thinking for this 21st century city. Broadway Malyan's ideas for Jinan Garden City are aimed at reinforcing the planning and policy strategies for managing growth in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The intention is that Jinan will be a major catalyst for sustainable development and will also complement and support the shape and function of the region. We brought together a number of ideas; a superb place to live, provision of parks and gardens, recreational activities, an educational environment, sustainable communities and an easy place to work. to conceive a city of many places and many characters. The masterplan has been developed to provide a high level of integration and distinctiveness. The City Heart comprises seven inner city districts providing a range of high-end city centre, housing, business, retail and recreational facilities. This is surrounded by eight related village communities, each of which have a different character and role. Each village will be designed around a core set of sustainable principles based in part on the 'Estidama Guidelines' from the Urban Planning Council. Broadway Malyan also created a short film to promote Jinan as a livable and exciting new city.
