Vodafone's flagship store complete with bar, internet café and fake grass-covered toilets, is designed to sell a youth experience rather than just mobile phones. Much of the original exposed metalwork and concrete has been retained, with the industrial feel of the building balanced by quirky features such as a full skateboarding ramp on lower ground floor and a wall made of Neoprene synthetic rubber in the internet café area.
The main entrance is on the ground floor and contains a bar, internet café and computer games area plus an imposing DJ tower that looks more like a Thai beach hut than the standard black clad technology pulpit. A six meter long table covered in camouflage net provides a focal point. Lower ground floor one is dedicated to music and fashion and includes a stage for live music performances. Beneath, on lower ground floor two, is the tattoo parlour and hairdressing salon separated by a padded screen, with a further café and clothes stalls. Over three floors and between the store's lengthy opening hours it is also possible to grab a coffee in the morning get a haircut in the afternoon, see a band play in the evening and go clubbing afterwards, all in one building.
