Fundamental to our strategy is to separate the access entrances in order to relieve site traffic congestion and make the arrival more inviting for both pedestrians and those using their car. We have separated the main entrance and vehicle drop off from the ambulance route by placing this main entrance at the east frontage close to the MRT pedestrian route. This will enable those arriving in future by train to experience seamless access into the heart of the Hospital at Level 1.

In addition this entrance will be the main drop off point for those arriving by car including the elderly, disabled persons and children. This new main entrance to the Hospital is strategically located at Level 1, facing the main access point to the Hospital campus. A new NUHCS/Cardiac dedicated entrance and drop off is proposed at Level 3 accessed from the current vehicle to the Kent Ridge Wing Block. This will enable direct access to the NUHCS department which will be appropriately linked to the proposed atrium to simplify patient’s wayfinding experience.
