background and brief
Broadway Malyan, in partnership with Hyde Housing Association and Wilson Bowden, has developed an innovative mixed-use development masterplan for this key Brighton & Hove Council and SEEDA regeneration opportunity. The scheme provides over 19,000m² of commercial floorspace and 412 new homes and has a landmark Innovation Centre dedicated to the promotion of community and academic entrepreneurship.

The commercial and residential elements of the scheme have been designed to BREEAM excellence with all homes reaching EcoHomes standard. The 166 affordable homes provided will be managed by Hyde Housing and integrated with private homes for sale within a sustainable communities framework. The masterplan also provides for a variety of quality public spaces designed to complement and reinforce the particular uses of the development proposal. Two new public squares and new visitor attractions will be provided to maximise community use.
