Broadway Malyan’s multi-disciplinary and internationally-spread skills base draws a “sustainability net” wider than purely architectural issues, to include community benefits, social inclusion, transport, recycling and vitally, quality of life amongst many other areas which essentially require a holistic view and rigorous and continuous evaluation. We place an emphasis on providing a range of skills that support our approach, and consequently have a dedicated Environmental Sustainability Unit, operating with specialist staff, co-ordinating sustainability audits and reviews at each stage of every project. This includes our Regeneration Unit, which provides a full range of design, planning, social/economic and neighbourhood governance skills, an urbanism unit, ensuring that local communities become beneficiaries in regeneration schemes, and, a dedicated Environmental Engineering team, that provides a range of technical building performance assessments, including renewable energy feasibility studies, designing for thermal performance and air tightness, life cycle costing and co-ordinating with M&E services.
