Roger has overall responsibility for Broadway Malyan's planning consultancy business and jointly supports the management of the company's Urbanism agenda. He has twenty three years experience in the development industry, half of which was in local government where he was involved in public policy and major development implementation. This provided him with a detailed awareness of the technical and political issues and strategies associated with large scale urban growth and regeneration.
At Broadway Malyan, he has focused upon the identification and promotion of large scale strategic development sites through the planning process. This has involved the presentation of evidence at many national and local public inquiries and examinations.
Roger is adamant that in order to secure political and public 'buy-in' understanding context and design is a critical component of site promotion. He is also a keen advocate of analyzing council corporate and community plan objectives to ensure that urban growth adds value to the host community. He has ensured that planning consultancy is fully integrated with the masterplanning and architectural teams thus ensuring that all professionals have a mutual understanding of related disciplines.
Roger was appointed to the Board in 2010.
