Ian has been a design leader at Broadway Malyan since 1996, becoming a member of the Board in 2006. He has a passion for place-making and diverse expertise in a wide range of project types and scales in both the private and public sector. In London and the Middle East, Ian was the chief designer for a number of mixed-use and regeneration projects, including Mina Zayed, an 860 acre waterfront masterplan in the east of Abu Dhabi. He also completed two major waterfront residential schemes, the award winning Battersea Reach in the UK and Al Bandar in Abu Dhabi.

Ian relocated from London in 2008 to establish the practice’s Singapore office, and subsequently opened the Mumbai office in 2011. In Singapore, he recently led a number of high profile projects in the residential, workplace and healthcare sectors; such as the Boutiq, a luxury condo retreat, HSBC’s Green Mark Platinum corporate fit-out at Mapletree Business City , and the multiple award winning National Heart Centre Singapore, which is currently under construction. In India, Ian has grown Broadway Malyan’s  hospitality sector to deliver the interior fit outs for two Novotel hotels – a 400-key hotel at Delhi International airport due to open in 2012, and a 170-key hotel in Chennai which is scheduled to open in 2013.
