The 400-room Novotel Hotel New Delhi is located adjacent to the Indira Ghandi International Airport and offers easy access to the business hubs of Gurgaon and New Delhi.

It is part of the wider New Delhi Aerocity development which has been created to support India’s growing demand for business and conference facilities. Broadway Malyan was appointed to deliver the interior design and developed a concept focused on representing Indian culture and textiles within a contemporary setting.

Ankit Kamboj, an associate at Broadway Malyan said: “Novotel Hotels has a clear brand focused on modern, efficient design. The core of our approach was to utilise the kinds of fixtures, fittings and finishes familiar to customers and a colour palette based on earthy tones to provide that modern feel.

“This was complemented by the use of bright accent colours, various fabric textures and patterns, sculptures and artworks that represent Indian heritage and style to provide a real sense of the location.

“For example, the main bar and lobby area has a feature space with a wall of rotating full height screens which add colour and a focal point celebrating the richness of Indian design and materials.”

Other features of the design include an open concept kitchen in the restaurant to provide a sociable, inviting space, and the use of timber throughout the hotel’s public areas to provide a more intimate and cosy feel for travellers. Broadway Malyan delivered the interior designs for the main lobby, guest rooms and premier suites, fitness centre, premier and crew lounges, restaurant and bar.

Operated by AccorHotels, the Novotel Hotel is part of a wider complex and shares back of house facilities with the adjoining 270 room Pullman Hotel, which is linked by a central garden and outdoor heated pool.
