An experienced architect, Matt is passionate about place making and regeneration. As a student he was nominated for the prestigious RIBA Silver Medal and his commitment to quality design continues to this day. Matt believes that better designed buildings and places have many measurable benefits such as improving social integration and productivity, lifting people’s spirits, increasing return on investment and increasing tourism.

Matt joined Broadway Malyan in 2001. He is a main board Director and member of the Executive Committee. He currently leads the Liverpool studio and is responsible for many of the practice’s award-winning schemes in the Northwest including; Islington Wharf in Manchester, the flagship store for Waitrose in Chester and the 2015 RIBA award-winning Mann Island in Liverpool, a prestigious and striking £120m mixed-use waterfront scheme.
