An experienced architect with 30 years experience at Broadway Malyan John became a main board director in 2002. John has extensive project experience across a breadth of sectors in the UK and abroad encompassing strategic masterplanning, architectural design and project delivery.
Currently his primary involvement is split between public sector projects with the Ministry of Defence and through frameworks and a wide range of residential projects with major housebuilders and developers. John builds lasting relationships with his clients helping them to secure planning permissions and win major strategic bids through a pragmatic, creative approach highlighting value added opportunities.
As well as being the project director for award winning projects such as the Ordnance Survey Headquarters John led the strategic masterplanning project for a 17 sq. kilometre extension to Sadr City, Baghdad, a planned $10billion investment over a 10 year period to provide a city extension for 500,000 people.
For John the appropriateness of architecture to its location and setting is key. He believes that architecture and landscape should respond positively to both context and culture, creating places which are memorable and inspiring and offer a deep rooted sense of place.
