David joined Broadway Malyan in 1987 and was appointed to the Board in 2003. He splits his time between Reading and Warsaw, leading and overseeing work in both studios and has wide ranging experience in commercial, workplace, residential, mixed-use and process buildings. David takes a particular interest in what makes buildings and places a delight to use and experience, focusing on everything from layout and planning through to the minutiae of detailing and components.
Key schemes in David’s portfolio include the prestigious Met Office in Exeter, BP Upstream Learning Centre in Sunbury, various buildings for Thames Water Utilities and a new European research and development centre for Petronas Lubricants in Italy. He is currently leading the design team for Warszawa Glowna, a regeneration masterplan for a large mixed-use transport hub in central Warsaw.
David also has a keen interest in the refurbishment of listed buildings and has led a number of sensitive schemes in this field. These include Avalon, the award-winning refurbishment of a former Grade II listed school into luxury apartments and Shenfield Mill, a new home for a private client on a riverside island setting.
