The 5,000 sqm redevelopment in Vilamoura Marina will see the development of a range of buildings including a new yacht club, the marina headquarters, restaurant, retail offer and a gym & spa.

Vilamoura is one of Portugal best known destinations and includes five championship golf courses, an international equestrian centre and a marina that can berth up to 825 yachts.

In September 2015, the new owners Vilamoura World unveiled a new Master Plan that would see the construction of 5,000 residential and holiday homes on the site and the upgrade of the marina.

Vitor Pais, who is leading the project, said Vilamoura World is striving to create an iconic statement for the whole resort.

He said: “Vilamoura is one of Portugal’s most exciting developments and our brief is to create a scheme that delivers a stunning arrival on the entry to the marina and reflects its standing as one of Europe’s foremost maritime destinations.

“The new scheme will include a number of buildings centred around the yacht club headquarters which will include a major restaurant, terrace bar and swimming pool.

“Attracting international visitors remains at the heart of Portugal’s economic story so it is fantastic to see this significant vote of confidence in one of the jewels in Portugal’s crown and we look forward to delivering a project befitting its importance to the long term vitality if the region.”
